The state of shipperdom today? |

I know that shippers took a big kick in the gut when Lindsey publicly declared he forsook Stevie prior to his Solo album tour. anyone out there still think
Lindsey secretly carries the torch for Stevie?

I believe he does and maybe not so secretly. But if I were him, I would be getting sick of her shit.
It'll be fine.

I consider myself a realistic shipper, meaning I hope he does but I don't think he could ever get past all the hurt she caused him to be still carrying a
torch for her like he did back in the day. He did mention that what keeps him and his wife so close is that they happen to share alot of the same issues that
come from being hurt in much the same way.

I'm still a Stevie/Lindsey 'shipper. I try not to think about that bad stuff in the past or present. I just like
them together.

Maybe I'm missing something or forgetting something I read, but I don't remember LB "publicly stating he forsook Stevie prior to his solo album
tour". Mary, can you fill me in on where you read or heard this? Thanks.

Perhaps Im getting the timing wrong? All I know is that Lindsey said in interviews *approximately* around the time of his solo tour or perhaps when his album
first came out, that he and his wife had a fight (apparently about Stevie) and she gave him an ultimatum to let go of the "past" or forget about her
and the kids and according to Lindsey he began to write Castaway Dreams and called Kristin up and told it to her and that he had made up his mind....and when
he introduced the song Castaway Dreams on his Under the Skin tour, he said it was inspired by a fight he had with his wife or somesuch. Im not as crystal
clear on all the details as you guys, granted, but Im pretty sure the basics are correct. If not, can someone clarify?
on 5/10/07, Buffycar said this: He wrote this song after having a fight with his wife. When I saw him at HOB in Chicago, he said this and somebody in the front row said "About Stevie?" Lindsey bent over and looked at the person with a funny look on his face and said "What??" His wife was in the audience. I think it is a goodbye to Stevie. Lindsey says it's about coming to terms with saying goodbye to your dreams. He sings "Magic one, all our dreams are done". To me, Stevie is the magic one and he and Stevie had big dreams when they started out just 2 poor musicians in love and struggling to survive together. Their love didn't survive but they did become successful. Then they became close again around the time of The Dance tour but shortly thereafter, Lindsey became a father and finally married Kristin. So maybe he and Stevie had dreams once again that their love would survive but once he had children, he was on the fence about it. Maybe it was still in the back of his mind and the fight he and Kristen had was maybe Kristin telling him, You can't love both of us...pick one. It's not fair to either Stevie or Kristen. He doesn't want to rip apart his family so that's the choice he makes. "Hearts will break with choices we must make"....anyway maybe I'm waaaayyy off but that's what I thought when I heard the song. so Im sure Im on the right track. Im having trouble finding actual interviews during the concert tour, but I will keep looking. ![]()

I'm sure there's much more to these relationships than any of us know or may ever know....

I think so too. That's a quote of mine from a loooong time ago. It was really funny when the person in the audience said that. The look on Lindsey's
face was priceless.
It'll be fine.
