Not to rain on the parade, but Stevie did, in the last year, make an itunes playlist with her favorite songs. Not only did this song NOT get a mention, many of the other songs in some way she related back to she and Lindsey. Soooooo, I don't know that this song has anything to do with HIM; he who should not be named every time Stevie decides to cover a new song.

I will say that Stevie not writing any new music does have a lot to do with the fact that her muse is unavailable (a look at her behavior in the media is direct proof of that.) Not every song she writes is about him, but if thinking about your muse is what gets your creative juices flowing, her well has run dry. So, instead she decides to cover other songwriters when she doesn't create any new music. I think she needs another pep talk from Petty! Perhaps if she were motivated to write a song she would write about a similar sentiment that is expressed in this song. my $2 cents.
