I'm a little more awake, stuck my head under the faucet on cold, refreshing!...The band said alot of thankyous durring the show and finale, a thankyou also went to us fans for our support! Lindsey gave a special shout out to his friend Ray Lindsey who was moving on to other things. Lindsey and Stevie made alot of song dedications. Lindsey mentioned his niece Cory who was going to be touring with other bands. The finale was freakin awsome!! Everybody was going nuts, Mick had the crowd totally pumped doing his drum solo. He was great! Lindsey threw his guitar....alot! I think someone was wanting a good excuse to go shopping when he got home!

Frankly, I am stunned that Ray quit. Well, not really.
I wonder it LB is upset about him leaving? Or is it a mutual thing? Suzanne...I am not all that stunned, ya know? ~~~~Kelly ![]() |

Okay - the concert was just great. SG was the most emotional song of the night. It was so powerful. Also, the melody was changed a little - so that was cool.
BUT - Stand Back was the star. She took her voice way into a range she rarely goes. AND - LB can to our side of the stage and I was like four feet from him and she was pointing in our direction and singing (with no mic.) STAND BACK STAND BACK!!! Then he also came over and gave us "I NEED A LITTLE SYMPATHY" while slapping his chest and the sweat flying off of his chest as he was slapping it The bar afterward was great. Stevie was protected by her body guards, but that was cool because she wanted to relax and have a good time, so I understand and totally respect that. I saw Lori Nicks and let me say she is knock down beautiful. I spoke to her briefly and she could not be nicer IMO - what a class act!!!! Interestingly, the roadies brought the catering from the plane into the bar and it was, of all things, Mexican Food. So, I standing there talking to one of the guys while he was drinking a martini and eating a taco LB was nowhere to be found in the bar, but he was at the hotel. Interstingly, after the goodbyes at the concert, he sort of hurried off of the stage. Also, black boots with leg warmers and TWIRLS during the end of Sara!!! |

How long did Stevie stay down in the bar Jason? Was the rest of the band, sans LB of course, down there too? details boy, details.
What was she wearing? what did she drink? come on, details boy! I agree, Lori is beautiful. Is her hair much longer and redder than it was in the TISL photos? I thought I saw her in Camden but I was not positive it was her as she was so far away. I cant believe Jessi told me that Lori was probably going to tour with Stevie on her next solo tour. I really hope so. Lori is awesome! ![]() |

Honey - Stevie stayed until way after 2:00 a.m., when they had to stop serving liquor. I think La Nicks was shooting tequila because she had a lemon or lime in her hand like she was gonna. She was in that same black top with the black pants. She looked great. I did not look at her alot because Jamie Fox was also there and his people were a scream. They brought out this HUGE bottle of Grey Goose and Patron and were just pouring any and every one a shot!!!! It was a scream and Jamie was a gas!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, I am just back home and together enough after a brief sleep to post. Our jaws dropped about Ray. Is he retiring, moving on to something a bit less high maintenance than the mac and LB? Did this tour do him in? WE all remember Madison, Oh My God, poor Ray's night in guitar hell. From Lindsey's dedication there did not seem to be any animiosity it was very affectionate and Stevie through in some good words as well.
I should probably check out the other posts on this subject before I go into alot of details, but just a few thoughts. They were absolutely phenomenal last night. I thought they are either going to be so burned out and tired, or they are going to go all out, speed of sound, leave it all on the stage. Fortunately they chose the latter. LB was having an out of body experience, songs that did not usually have guitar breaks had guitar breaks. Every instrumental was longer, different better. Stevie was beautiful, interactive, red hot. Her Stand Back was just the best every. There just isn't a superlative to describe it. I am struggling with what to say about the SN/ LB interaction, it is pretty complicated to define from last night. At the beginning of the show they were singing most of the time to each other, tham LB pulled away from that. He seemed to really be struggling with emotions during Sara, I'm not sure exactly why that song. He wore his game face for much of the show, I think he was just trying to keep it together. He kept her at arms length during the brief Landslide break, no hand kissing. She brought his hand to her face. They had their usual interactive moments during Sara, Tusk, and SYW, and the side hug after Landslide. The middle section with Landslide and then SG was just an emotional killer. Lindsey said he wrote SG for Stevie and then said tonight he wanted to dedicate it to his brother, Greg who had passed away and his niece, Greg's daughter who was traveling with them. He was pretty emotional during the dedication and just about didn't make it out of the song alive. Anyway, I've got to run for now. I will be back shortly with more dish. The show and our little "after party" at the Ritz still has my head spinning. Jason you are my hero. I know it was your manuevering that got me that nice "good night" from Ms Nicks. I never knew before last night that you were a personal friend of Carl Stubner. Did you know that before last night? Lisa

I met Carl before - so I cannot say we are friends or anything like that. And - although I certainly do not know him well at all, he appears to be a stand up guy, etc. Also, he manages Beyonce, who used to live sort of by me and, I believe still lives in the same building here in Atlanta, where a very good friend of mine lives. I used to see her in the lobby often.

Quote: Poor Lindsey. I have to say, I can't blame him for wanting to try and distance himself from Stevie a little bit on the last night. I think he knew that if he didn't, he would most likely not get through the night. Tell me, what was emotional about the middle section of Landslide? Just curious. I read another review on Mick's board and the person who wrote the review said that Stevie was helping him sing during Say Goodbye, because he looked like he was about to burst into tears. Then, Lindsey looked over at Stevie and looking over at her only made him get even more choked up so he looked away to try and compose himself. I also heard they were both crying during Goodbye Baby. And how were Stevie's emotions last night?-guitarchick "Now on the road we've had many really good talks. We've know each other most of our lives and yet we're still trying to figure out what's going on. Obviously, a lot of love as a subtext. But where is that love? How do we get in touch with any of that? For all of us, the decisions we make now are going to determine how we are as people until we die. Stevie and I are trying to look at it...with care."-Lindsey Buckingham

Re: Motown Adventure | ||

Stevie did not seem weepy or anything like that, but my view was from the far right side (LB's side) of the stage, so maybe a head on view revealed more. The only hint I saw that indicated something different than the rote stuff they do at every concert was the locked stare on LB after Tusk, which was intense to say the least.
And - during the end fo Rhiannon, she went off a little tiny bit a la the old days and Stand Back was 100% more energized than at any of the shows I have seen on this tour! |

Also, during the end of GB - she clearly said "Don't foresake me" - which was alarming to hear~~!~~

Okay, I've got 10 more minutes, what can I post? Jason, Carl did seem like a really nice guy, very friendly. I wasn't sure if you had actually met him before last night or it was just about your excellent concert karma.
Quote: Well, I'm not sure just what was happening with Landslide. He did turn away from her briefly right when they take the little pause, yes I think to compose himself. Then he held his arm stiff to keep her at a distance when they grasped hands. I had a great view, dead center in the Pit. Stevie did a long intro thanking everyone and then dedication to her dad. Lindsey seemed pretty emotional as he started his dedication to SG, he didn't do the rote speech at all. He was very emotional and his voice was breaking several times, particularly at the end. Yes, if Stevie wasn't singing there would have been a couple of places his voice was so soft and cracking the words would have been lost. Also they stood in a deadlocked stare for a very long time after that song, through the lights going down and then up again. Goodbye Baby was very emotional, for all of us actually, LB and SN included. I don't think Stevie cried. As to her general emotions, she seemed very up, warm, and interactive the whole night. Okay, back to the Ritz. We agree to stop by the Ritz for a drink after the show. We park and as we walk in out front is just strewn with big cases and suitcases and then I see the little yorkies running around and Karen, Stevie's assistant. I am with a friend who is always the first one to spot anyone or anything. She says there she is, and I know she means Stevie. So we walk into the lobby right behind Ms. Nicks. Mick is also there, then I see Neil. Brett, God bless his sweet heart, comes walking by and actually speaks to me first. We just say hello and he graciously accepts my compliments on their mind blowing show. I am busy looking at Stevie and my observant friend has spotted Lindsey, but she is uncharacteristically at a loss for words. Finally she starts saying behind me, behind me. I am like what is wrong with you? and still looking at Stevie, finally she manages to get the word Lindsey out of her mouth. I look over and he is standing all alone about 20 feet from us in the lobby. Unfortunately he is only 20 feet away but getting to him involves navigating around a couch, a chair, and a marble table with a huge flower arrangement. And he is shortly turning down the hall to the elevators. So ogling was as much as we got to do. Mick walked around behind the couch where we were sitting and did a nod and hello, but was talking on his cell. At this point I am on the phone to Jason, saying where are you!!!! I am in the Ritz lobby with Fleetwood Mac. Stevie paused in the lobby and then went into the lounge where she sat for a bit with people from the crew. Then she disappeared upstairs. We sat down in the lounge about this time Jason and Chris show up after a harrowing interstate experience. We are having a drink and a nice chat. Jason mentioned Jamie Fox was there and he was working the room like a politician. He actually came up to me introduced himself and kissed me on the cheek. Could this night get any more surreal? Okay then Stevie, Neil, Brett, Carlos, and Jana all reappear in the bar. Didn't get a chance to speak to Jana, but Neil, Brett, and Carlos were very sweet and gracious (sp?). As Jason mentioned Stevie had a handler, who was really doing some handling. It was terrific to see her and as she left she did make a point of stopping, turning to us with a little wave and saying good night. Got to run, I'll be back. Oh it was great to see Nancy and Darlene at the concert, and to meet Mary. Jason and Chris what fun! Hope we get the chance to do this again, thanks for a wonderful evening. Lisa

my turn... | ||
|
Ok, now it's my turn to tell my experience of the concert. I'll start from the beginning, and try not to go too detailed. My dad and I got to Clarkston about 3pm. My dad was stupid and didn't reserve a room anywhere cause he thought with a concert venue nearby, that their would be plenty of hotels...he was wrong. We spent almost 2 hours looking for a hotel. I don't know how many times we were up and down 75. So finally we stopped in this bar called the Deer Lake Inn where we found some dude who helped us out. Their were 3 hotels that he knew of in the area. 2 were filled up so we were stuck with this little one called the Motor Lodge. I'll warn everyone..DO NOT GO THERE! The place was terrible, but it was all worth it cause I got to see Fleetwood Mac for the first time ever!!! I was very surprised when I got to DTE. Their really isn't a bad seat in the house. Although, yeah, pit is of course the best (so jealous of you all who had those seats!) Security was a major b**** last night. They took away my camera
Ok, I think I've wrote enough about the show for now. Yeah, I know I've repeated a lot of what everyone else has already said, but I just had to get all this out of me, cause I'm still on a high from the show. It was great! Best time of my life!! |

Re: DTE: The Big Goodbye (for now) | ||
Quote: I probably had a better view than you did since I was towards the center of row 4, although my short self had my view of Stevie blocked for at least half of the show. The one time I noticed Stevie get really choked up was during the hand clasp during Landslide. She put Lindsey's hand to her face or mouth and looked like she was crying a little, and didn't want to let his hand go. Lindsey looked like a total wreck all night. I was in the second row right in front of him for the first 2-1/2 songs (before I got kicked out! lol) He had a very "pensive" look on his face, like he might lose it and break down at any moment. There wasn't as much interaction with the fans... he seemed to stare above the crowd a lot, not making eye contact, trying to keep his composure, for much of the night. (Not to say there was no interaction, it was just a lot less than usual.) I think he was really holding back last night. Lindsay (linylou) and Amy (Sorceress) were both in Camden, and said that show was much more emotional on Lindsey's part... he just totally let it all out. They both thought Detroit was somewhat anti-climatic compared to Camden... and that Lindsey was probably purposely holding back because of how much he let go in Camden. Anyway, as Jason and Lisa already mentioned, Stevie was on fire! Stand Back was the highlight of the night for me. She was dancing her butt off, shaking and shimmying (also during Sara). She really let loose -- as did Lindsey. They all seemed to be putting every ounce of energy into their performances. They're always great, but last night was simply "more". (I don't know how else to describe it!) I really thought Lindsey was going to smash his guitar to bits! He slid it across the floor a couple times, and just wailed on it. And there was more fist-pumping, yelling, etc., by him at the conclusion of his songs. Ah, Jason, thank you for reminding me about the end of Goodbye Baby... I noticed Stevie's lyric change, but totally forgot about it once the concert was over! She did indeed say "Don't forsake me". My chin just about dropped to the floor! Lindsey was clearly crying during Goodbye Baby, to the point he couldn't sing. After they took the final bow, he bolted offstage... and I'm positive it was because he was crying. I wouldn't be surprised if he broke into sobs once he got back stage. Stevie managed to hold it together, and walked off stage hand-in-hand with Mick. Unfortunately, I missed a lot of the detail of the show because of occurrences around us. During Stevie's beautiful Landslide dedication to her father, some people right in front of us decided to get into a loud argument about something that had transpired between them about 1/2 hour earlier. Most of the dedication was drowned out by them. Also, during Say Goodbye, there were a lot of people carrying on conversations around me, which totally ruined it for me... I couldn't concentrate on what was going on between LB and SN. I was very dissappointed in a lot of the fans around us. Many of them didn't really seem to care much about the concert. People by us were constantly disappearing for stretches of time, or carrying on conversations during certain songs, which was distracting to me. They seemed bored. And during Lindsey's songs especially, most of the people in the pit around us sat down! It seemed that only about 10-20% of the people in the pit stood for most or all of the show. Even people in the first row (which were the only people allowed at the stage due to the setup) were sitting down a lot. They sat through all of So Afraid and Come, until Lindsey let loose and threw his guitar across the floor at the end. There was a couple in front of me that spent more time making out than actually paying attention to the show (and we're not talking teeny boppers here). Between that and the "security nazi", it kinda put a damper on the show for me... I feel that I missed a lot of what was going on up there. (Of course, the fact that I was frantically trying to take pictures without the "security nazi" grabbing my camera didn't help! lol) I don't really have anything else to add. The other reviews I've read so far have summed things up pretty well... the band was very energized and seemed to put an extra something into their performance last night, they thanked the crowd a lot, and gave a lot of long, wonderful intros. (Lindsey's dedication of Say Goodbye to Cory was very sweet. He ended it something like "so I dedicate this to my niece, Cory... I love you." I looked over at Cory, and she was bawling!) And Stevie danced and twirled her butt off during her signature songs. Sara, Say Goodbye, Landslide and Goodbye Baby were the most emotional songs of the evening (and Beautiful Child as well... I can't remember for sure, but Lindsey may have choked up during that song as well.) Those were the songs where Lindsey had the most trouble maintaining his composure. Oh, and one thing that really pumped me up.... when Stevie did her "welcome" speech, she told the crowd something like "We've been to Detroit 3 times, which obviously means you're #1 to us. (Lindsey looked at her and laughed!) And we will be back!" And, at the end of the evening, when Mick usually says "The Mac is back!", he gave a long pause, then yelled "The Mac will be back!" - Mary |

Yeah, Stevie did say something like, We've been here like 3 times and as far as I'm concerned, you're # 1 on our list! The crowd went nuts!

Re: stevie.. | ||

One other bright spot I forgot to mention. In the beginning when Lindsey was talking about their "crazy ride" the past 3 years and that this was the last show, he said they were going to take a little break, but they would be back. We've got to hold him to that. How do you think he defines " little break"?
